Industrial Wilds
Industrial Wilds restores a former landfill site by means of habitat creation and restoration, promoting health and wellbeing through reengagement and reconnection with nature, that fosters a sense of stewardship.
The sites former use presents opportunities for sensitive landscape interventions, which embrace the juxtaposition of its industrial heritage and valuable ecological processes that persist in the challenging environment.
Flexible, dynamic spaces that reveal the beauty the lower Thames Estuary that draw upon Robert McFarlane’s(2013) observations that heavy industry echoes the natural environment in its rawest, unforgiving state far more than we think.
