The Essence of Landscape: A Phenomenology of Suburbia
Suburbia has failed. The pseudo-pastoral ideal of the Georgian mercantile elite has given rise to a selfish, introverted landscape—decentralised, homogenised and adulterated.
The need for intervention is imperative. Such intervention can only proceed with a fuller, holistic understanding of the suburban paradigm. This presentation advances phenomenology as a method for acquiring this insight.
