Meadowfort
A green oasis within the urban sprawl
Meadowfort proposes a new riparian edge to the River Can, with vegetation-rich meadow land, improved flood resilience and nature-based play for future generations of Chelmsford, encourage the ecologists and landscape architects of the future.
The design is inspired by wetland and riverside landscapes such as Moonee Ponds Creek, Australia and Kurkkojärvi Flood Park, Finland and is heavily influenced by the works of Roberto Burle Marx. Rewilding and enriching green and blue infrastructure at Admirals Park, Chelmsford, to improve mental health and wellbeing of the users, while creating a high-quality space to exercise and relax.
