Piecing the Past (2022)
My practice is heavily influenced by two major areas. Firstly, I explore deeply repressed thoughts from my own personal trauma, mostly focussing on the death of my uncle. I explore the psychological thoughts and feelings that surround these events and use the process of creating, as a type of therapy, taking influence from psychology expert Sigmund Freud. Another important influence for my work is Street Culture and the many artistic avenues involved in it, such as Graffiti, Tattoos and most importantly skateboard graphics.
For my final piece I have delved into my past in order to present the story of my life, by using a combination of styles and skills influenced from street culture. I believe I have successfully presented both the positive and negative events in my life, while keeping the most supressed experiences hidden.

Uncle Jake - Installation (2022)
Pencil Illustration referenced from digital line drawing of my Uncle Jake. The picture represents the most traumatic memory in my past, the loss of my uncle but on reflection this memory has made me the person I am today.

TRAPPED (2022)
A lino cutting to represent the manic thoughts that come with trauma and healing.

TRAPPED - Extended (2022)
An extended version of my lino cutting. I decided to paint this in vibrant colours, merging my research in trauma healing with my personal interests in skateboard graphics.
