BA (Hons) Art and the Environment
My work explores childhood trauma in various forms, which is something that has always interested me but I have been afraid to explore because of the sensitive nature of the topic.
After exploring other media, I have found that photography helps me best portray the emotions that a young child goes through when experiencing certain traumatic events. The images have an honest and raw feel to them. They are not meant to be aesthetically pleasing, but are designed to make the viewer stop and take notice of the stolen innocence and harsh reality that are usually hidden.
Studying at Writtle University College has helped me to step out of my comfort zone and make artwork that I want to make.
