BA (Hons) Art and the Environment
I am in my second year of studies on the Art and the Environment BA (Hons) course at Writtle. Drawing is central to my practice and I primarily use graphite pencil for the immediacy it affords in conveying ideas to paper. Digital software provides the virtual means to lift my drawings into three dimensions, a useful tool for animating and viewing my designs in the round. I also use clay and paper to hand-make maquettes and build scale models.
I am interested in how artworks in the environment can engage an audience or create a sense of wellbeing. My project for the end of year exhibition appropriates the mystery and wonder of Neolithic artworks such as Stonehenge and Avebury, relocating them to the grounds of Writtle’s campus.
